Akwasi Aidoo (Ghana/Senegal) Chair Akwasi Aidoo is the founding Executive Director of TrustAfrica, a grant making foundation dedicated to securing democratic governance and equitable development in Africa. Akwasi has extensive experience in philanthropy in Africa. His previous positions include Regional Program Officer for West and Central Africa at IDRC, Head of the Ford Foundation’s offices in Senegal and Nigeria, and Director of the Ford Foundation’s Special Initiative for Africa. Dr. Aidoo serves as a Director on boards of several non-profit organizations, including the Global Greengrants Fund, International Beliefs and Values Institute, International Committee of the Council on Foundations, the Africa Grantmakers' Affinity Group, and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa. Dr. Aidoo has taught at universities in Ghana, Tanzania, and the United States. He was educated in Ghana and the United States and received a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Connecticut in 1985. Dr. Aidoo writes poetry and short stories in his spare time.

Betty Kaari Murungi (Kenya) A leading African civil society practitioner and human rights activist, Betty has over 25 years of experience in the practice of law at the national, regional and international levels as well as extensive knowledge and experience in the management and governance of non-governmental organizations. She was the founder of Urgent Action Fund-Africa, which is a leading grantmaking and advocacy organisation dedicated to protecting the rights and security of women in situations of armed conflict throughout Africa. Betty was trained at the University of Nairobi and Harvard Law School, and was a founding member of the Kenya Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission. She has served as legal advisor and consultant to many international organisations, including the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for the Great Lakes Region, the Sierra Leone Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), and the Coalition for an International Criminal Court (CICC). Betty is the recipient of the prestigious Kenya national honor, Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS), which was awarded to her in December 2003. |

Jan Krol (Netherlands) Vice Chair In 1982 Jan founded PSI Direct, an agency for consumer direct marketing and direct mail production in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Through the years PSI worked in several countries throughout Europe and specialized in direct marketing for charities and other non-profit organizations like unions and charity lotteries. In November 2005 he retired as CEO of PSI. Today Jan is Managing-partner of Vakblad Fondsenwerving (Funds Magazine) in the Netherlands with a magazine, websites, job-board, a program with 40 workshops and masterclasses through the year and organizer of the annual congress and exhibition on fundraising in the Netherlands and several other gatherings on fundraising. Jan is also founder (in 2005) and director of the Animal Care Foundation (Stichting DierenLot), a fast growing animal charity in the Netherlands. |

Jennie Thompson (USA) Throughout her thirty year career in fundraising, Jennie has guided the fundraising of many of the largest membership organisations in the United States, She was a founder and Managing Director of Craver, Mathews, Smith & Company, (CMS), the progressive fundraising and membership development agency in Washington, DC. For twenty years, Jennie guided CMS’s pioneering work in using direct response media to raise money to effect social and political change. Since 1995, Jennie has worked as an independent advisor to nonprofit organisations throughout the sector.
Jennie is past chair of the board of directors of the Resource Alliance (1997-2000); and was re-elected to the board in 2009.
Jennie is an independent development consultant, working with an array of international and U.S. nonprofit organizations. She is a frequent speaker and trainer on fundraising, organisational development, and communications strategies affecting the non-profit sector.

Kitty Hilton (New Zealand) Kitty has been providing strategic counsel to the not-for-profit sector in Australia and New Zealand as an independent consultant for over 20 years. She works with organisations to help establish a clear vision and goals, build capacity and generate support and revenue for greater sustainability. She is highly experienced in strategic planning, leadership and relationship management, and fundraising and marketing.
She is also an experienced presenter and trainer. Kitty is a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand and CFRE accredited.

Marcos Kisil (Brazil) Dr. Kisil is a well-known expert in private social investment in Latin America having spent more than 15 years as Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. He is currently President of the Institute for the Development of Social Investment, a member of Charity Aid Foundation International Network, and CEO of Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal Foundation, a family foundation created in 1965. He is also a professor at the University of São Paulo’s School of Public Health and is a board member of the Brazilian branch of BirdLife International.

Norma Galafassi (Argentina) Norma is the Director of 'in2action, Fundraising & Communication', a full service fundraising firm serving local and international organisations worldwide, providing them with strategy, consultancy, direct response implementation and campaigns. She has been working extensively in the not-for-profit sector for the last 16 years in over 25 countries. She is an experienced consultant, internationally recognised trainer and invited speaker at Congresses all over the world. Norma was the first Fundraising Manager for UNICEF in Argentina having launched the successful annual telethon. She has a background in marketing having worked previously in the private sector for Exxon Argentina. She was Professor at Buenos Aires University and is one of the founders and current Chair of the Argentinean Fundraisers Association (AEDROS).

Petra Ingram (UK) Petra Ingram is the Chief Executive of the Brooke Hospital for Animals. The Brooke is the UK’s leading overseas equine welfare charity and aims to improve the lives of horses, donkeys and mules working in the poorest parts of the world. She has worked in the international charity sector since 2003 and was previously the Director for Finance, Planning and Services at Sightsavers International. Petra is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a regular speaker at charity seminars and workshops, including the IWRM.

Safi Rahman Khan (Bangladesh) Safi Khan was most recently the Executive Director of the Bangladesh Freedom Foundation, an indigenous grant-making organisation. Before that he was the Bangladesh Country Representative of Ashoka Innovators for the Public. Safi has taught courses on NGOs and Social Entrepreneurship at BRAC University and has conducted workshops on corporate governance for NGO Board members. He is the Treasurer of Nagorik Uddyog (a human rights and legal aid organisation), and Honorary Secretary of the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC) based in Manila.

Rory Francisco-Tolentino (Philippines) Based in the Philippines, Rory serves as a consultant to non-profit organisations on fundraising, setting up and managing non-profit organisations and foundations. Prior to that she held the post of Chief Executive of the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC); a network of organisations dedicated to promoting the flow and effectiveness of philanthropy in the Asia-Pacific region. Between 1999-2002 Rory was the Executive Director of Ayala Foundation in the Philippines and before that was the Executive Director of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), the country's largest grant-making and project-implementing foundation supported by contributions from some 172 member corporations.

Vicky Annis (UK) Vicky joined England Netball in 2011 as the Director of Finance, building on over 20 years’ experience in various not-for-profit organisations including the NHS, local and central government, Trinity College London and most recently as Director of Finance at Merlin. Vicky is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).
