the Fundraisers Fund
The Resource Alliance believes it is essential that voluntary organisations are enabled to build their fundraising and communication capacity so they can better meet the world's challenges. The more voluntary sector personnel are given opportunities to learn and network, the faster this knowledge will be spread in the communities that need it most.
The Fundraisers Fund exists to support the professional development of some of the rising stars in fundraising in emerging markets. Donations to the Fundraisers Fund help establish bursaries for participants to attend training events and knowledge sharing workshops, with grants also made available towards other programme initiatives which aim to build fundraising capacity.
Each bursary is awarded by a selection committee, and applicants must satisfy specific terms and conditions in order to be eligible. In awarding bursaries, we seek to support those fundraisers who are able to demonstrate both a commitment to investing resources in fundraising, and that can apply the learning gained during the event within their organisations, but whose training budgets are not sufficient to allow them to attend otherwise.
Broadening access to information about resource mobilisation is a crucial goal of the Fundraisers Fund. To encourage access to those resources, the fund will also be used to continue the development and translation of fundraising materials such as printed and electronic materials into languages including Spanish.
The Fundraisers Fund evolved out of the Resource Alliance’s Guy Stringer Bursary Fund, which was established and launched in October 2002 through the support of a number of corporate donors, including the founding corporate partner SAZ.
