Speaker opportunities
How the programme is put together
The IFC programme is put together by the Fundraising Online Advisory Panel, who work alongside members of the Resource Alliance staff. The Panel consists of a group of volunteers who each bring a different area of expertise and experience to the panel. The current members are:
- Mike Johnston, Hewitt and Johnston Consultants (Canada) – Chair
- André Gabriel, LET'S (Brazil)
- Anita Yuen, UNICEF (Switzerland)
- Beate Sørum, Norwegian Cancer Society (Norway)
- Cornelis van den Hoeven, SOS Kinderdorf International (Austria)
- Dennis McCarthy, Convio (USA)
- Jonathan Waddingham, JustGiving (UK)
- Laura Boulton, the Resource Alliance (UK)
- Roland Csaki, WWF International (Hungary)
- Usha Menon, the Management Centre Asia (Singapore).
The deadline for submitting proposals for sessions at Fundraising Online 2012 has now passed.
The Panel's role now is to select the very best from the proposals received.
This year the programme has been organised into five tracks and we are particularly interested in receiving proposals on the topics listed below.
General
Aimed at all fundraisers, these sessions cover general principles which you will find useful whichever area of digital or integrated fundraising you’re working on.
Integration
- Integration between channels
- The integrated or cross-cutting use of digital between fundraising, advocacy, communication and marketing
- Database and CRM - how to integrate old fashioned CRM systems with the new digital world.
Specialist sessions
- Digital marketing - This could involve a specific session on any of or a combination of the following: email, search engine marketing, display advertising, mobile marketing, social networking etc
- Optimisation - Increasing conversion rates, improving the donation funnel, multivariate testing etc
- Digital Content - Digital storytelling, online video, social networking, demonstrating a return on investment on the content that you get people to share via social networks.
Strategy
- How digital fits within the larger strategic mix of fundraising
- Change management - how you change governance structure, reporting and staffing around digital
- Making the business case for digital within your organisation
- Effective digital planning.
Trends
- Mobile
- How digital fits into corporate engagement.
- Gamification.
Due to the diverse, international audience the event attracts, the panel will also be looking for evidence of examples from different countries around the world and from different sized organisations with varying budgets.
When making their final selection, the Panel is also looking to ensure a good mix of new and returning speakers, as well as a gender balance, mix of practitioners, consultants and corporates, and different geographical locations. With this in mind, we are actively looking for speakers outside the USA, especially from fundraising practitioners.
Next steps
Successful applicants will be notified that their proposal has been accepted once the programme has been finalised. If you do not hear from us by the end of February, this means that your proposal has not been accepted.
