AP Region members participate in professional fundraising workshop

‘I would like to express my thanks to your excellent workshop in order to develop fundraisers in Asia. Though there are many NGOs/NPOs in Thailand, but we have very limited opportunities to meet each other and exchange techniques and know-hows for doing fundraising. The IWRM Asia 2011 gave us that opportunity. We can learn from the experts who can guide us many interesting and practical fundraising methods as well as exchange our experiences with one another. I'm hoping that the Resource Alliance will support us through more of this kind of workshop or conference in Asia.’
Mr. Anuchat Khongma, Japanese Management Manager
The Education for Development Foundation (EDF), Thailand
‘It was wonderful to be at the IWRM Asia 2011 in Bangkok where we had a chance to meet people from several countries and learn a lot from one another and connect with new organisations working in different countries. The formal sessions gave us a lot of exposure to new fundraising topics and a lot to learn from. I congratulate the whole team of The Resource Alliance for doing such a wonderful job.’
Safeer Ullah Khan, Advocacy & Communications Manager
Bedari - working with women and girls for their human rights, Pakistan
'I was very privileged to have attended the ninth IWRM in Bangalore India. It was actually a golden opportunity for me to meet with other fundraisers from other countries with whom I shared and acquired some really good ideas from. I found every session very useful. The entire programme was well packaged to give the participants all round information about fundraising. The ninth IWRM met all of my expectations. I came preoccupied with how to be able to meet with potential grant makers and how to be able to mobilise resources for our NGO. I left extremely pleased with the information I gathered. I am sure our organisation will be better able to mobilise resources more effectively and I would be delighted to attend the IWRM in the future.'
Betty Luma, Chairperson
FIDA (International Federation of Women Lawyers), Cameroon
'I really got to learn what fundraising is all about. It’s more than I could ever imagine! The sessions were inspiring and being with other fundraisers and drivers for change made the journey more enjoyable.'
Loh Wang Chin, Fundraising Officer
Geres Cambodia, Cambodia
‘The day after returning to India from the IWRM, I started to put the learning I gained into practice. Tharuni launched its 'Kids Help Kids campaign' on 8 July 2012, appealing to donations for the cause of higher education for rural girls. This is the outcome of the IWRM Asia! I thank the Resource Alliance for being the inspiration for my new found fundraising activities.’
Dr Mamatha Achanta, Director
'As a young person who has worked in the development sector for the past six years in South Africa, the ninth International Resource Mobilisation Workshop provided me with an opportunity to enhance existing skills and formulate relationships with other global organizations. The workshop taught us diverse fundraising strategies and models applied by different sustainable organizations from all over the world, maintaining good stakeholder relations and the significance of continuous innovation. The skills learned from this initiative will be utilised in my organization to build a positive organisational brand amongst our stakeholders and to form and expand international and local partners. Thank you for providing an opportunity and a platform to learn from others.'
Julia Lebo Maseloane, Project Manager
Tiso Foundation, South Africa
'The IWRM is a comprehensive and informative workshop for fundraising professionals. It has widened my fundraising horizon and empowered me strategically in the areas of fundraising leadership, development, management, promotion, communication, financing, sustainability and success.'
Enock Ajayi, Chief Development Officer
Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria
'I attended the ninth IWRM to learn more about some of the new and innovative approaches to fundraising. I’ve come away with the inspiration to take more risks and break away from the traditional norms associated with fundraising strategy.'
Kathryn Becher, Fundraiser and Capacity Builder
Action for Children in Conflict, Kenya
'After attending the ninth IWRM I have gained a revitalised view on fundraising strategy and really know how to put myself in the shoes of donors and reconnect with them. Additionally networking with fundraisers from other countries has been a fantastic experience.'
