Workshop 2011The IFC 2012 tracks

All Workshops are divided into tracks to help you choose the most relevant sessions according to the skills you wish to develop. When choosing sessions online, you will also be able to tailor your learning experience further by selecting keywords (eg digital, corporate, strategy).

Being a leader

Sessions will help you develop the skills needed to lead your colleagues, develop yourself and your team and manage your boss, your board and key volunteers.

Sessions in this track include:

  • Champion your volunteers
  • Running an effective fundraising operation.

Big picture thinking

Expand your horizons and explore topics such as positioning your organisation for fundraising success, planning market / channel entry, linking fundraising, marketing and programmes and developing new products.

Sessions in this track include:

  • Becoming an NGO of the future
  • Fundraising across Europe - all the same or all different?

Fundraising from the few

Improve your stewardship skills and the skills needed for upgrading and cultivating high value donors such as corporates, foundations and major donors and learn how you can build value across your entire organisation.

Sessions in this track include:

  • More influence, more income
  • Does innovation and ingenuity ensure survival in major gifts fundraising?
  • NGOs are from Venus, corporates are from Mars - expeditions into the business mind.

Fundraising from the many

Sessions will focus on finding new donors, keeping donors and developing relationships using mass marketing tools.

  • Crowdfunding
  • F2F - the digital revolution
  • Recruiting and retaining activists and donors
  • Direct mail 2.0.

Getting your message across

Learn how you can better talk to your supporters, create stories and messages that engage and how you can integrate your communications for a consistent supporter experience.

Sessions in this track include:

  • A fundraiser’s guide to developing effective relationships
  • How to recognise and manage emotions in order to raise more funds
  • Creating a powerful proposition - whatever your cause.

Managing effective organisations

Explore how to find the right strategy, manage and allocate resources, improve your understanding of money and structures that drive success and learn how to measure the right things.

Sessions in this track include:

  • Product portfolio analysis - choosing and using the right tools to put objectivity into strategic decision-making
  • Why do fundraising organisations struggle to innovate?

Research and insight

Learn about finding and implementing new fundraising ideas by better understanding your supporters and the world around you.

Sessions in this track include:

  • Why do people stop giving?
  • Driving blind is not a good idea!
