Uganda NGO Awards
In 2011 the first NGO Awards programme in Uganda was launched, with a main focus on fundraising as well as on:
- Rewarding organisations that can demonstrate strategic fundraising practices and can campaign
- Identifying and strengthen successful fundraising practices
- Sharing stories, case studies and other innovations.
Benefits
- The winners will be invited to enter the Global Awards 2011 (in the Netherlands in October 2011) and have an opportunity to compete against the best in the world
- The top nominations for the Global Awards will be invited to attend the International Fundrasing Congress (IFC), taking place in the Netherlands from
18-21 October 2011 - Shortlisted candidates receive a free place at the IWRM 2011 in Uganda from 29 November-2 December 2011.
Eligibility
NGOs from all over Uganda are invited to enter the competition provided they meet all of the following criteria:
- All organisations must be registered in Uganda as an NGO
- Organisations must have been working for a minimum of three years towards social and environmental transformation
- Organisations that propagate political or religious doctrines are excluded from participation.

Winners were announced at a Gala Night at the IWRM Africa 2011 on 29 November in Kampala, Uganda.
