Background Information
Judy Beard has recently been appointed as the Development Director at Imperial College, London. She completed her fundraising apprenticeship at Save the Children in the 1980s. After this she learned how to rapidly raise funds in response to emergency appeals at the British Red Cross and more gradually for the capital campaigns that built Tate Britain and Tate Modern. She was director of Communications, Fundraising and Marketing at Macmillan Support before becoming Principal Management Consultant at the not-for-profit consultancy the Management Centre.

In 2007, she completed two years as chair of the Advisory Board of the International Fundraising Congress. Judy is also a trustee of and donor to St Christopher’s Hospice in South London.
