Courses

Courses

There is a huge shortage of professionally trained and experienced fundraisers in the developing world. Training which is available tends to be brief, not systematic or sustained, and of variable quality and appropriateness. The lack of professionalism in fundraising creates problems for NGO credibility.

In response to this, the Resource Alliance has established a foundation course in fundraising for non-profits.

The courses are run in partnership with a number of institutions across the world, and the material is taught by local faculty and is tailored to fit the local context in order to meet the needs of each individual country.

There are two types of courses being run at present:

1.) A 1-year part-time, post-graduate diploma course for those already working in the non-profit sector, taught through a combination of face to face learning and home-study. The 1-year course is being run in:

2.) An advanced intensive certificate course aimed at those with non-profit sector experience, taught through class-room work, presentations, group work and case studies. The certificate course is being run in:

Further courses are also currently in development in other countries, including the Philippines and Brazil.
