GRANT WRITING FUNDAMENTALS
Your grant-writing roadmap
A hands-on introductory workshop to grant writing for fundraisers and nonprofits.
This practical two-hour masterclass is your foundation to build the infrastructure that gets your organisation funded. This session will teach you that it’s not about chasing money, but about leveraging strategic knowledge and building confidence in your application approach.
Why this masterclass:
Over the course of two hours, we’ll cover five key topics:
- Cracking the funder code: Learn how funders think, what drives their decisions, and how to position your organisation for success.
- The eight-step grant cycle: Move beyond the one-off application and embrace the full-cycle approach to planning, applying, and managing grants.
- Bringing your mission to the room first: Learn how to stop reacting to funding opportunities and, instead, how to align funding with your mission.
- The five key components of a strong project: Understand the essentials of building a fundable project that ties to your vision and goals.
- Mock funder interviews: Practice real-world funder conversations, discover the questions you should be asking, and find out how you should answer theirs.
The session will be delivered & facilitated by specialist Sara Stepa of Circles of Impact. Sara has over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector and holds expertise in grant writing, nonprofit strategy, and aligned leadership development. Having worked on both sides of the grant pipeline, she brings a unique perspective on what funders are looking for and what it takes to craft a winning application.
The next session of this masterclass takes place on 05 November at 15.00 PST | 18.00 EST and 06 November at 10.00 AEDT | 12.00 NZDT.
