Designing Digital Experiences That Convert

What do high-converting donor experiences actually look like across markets?

Organisations are investing heavily in driving people to digital channels, but too often the experience that follows creates friction, confusion, or drop-off.

Drawing on global data and testing insights as well as real-world examples, this session will show you how to design high-converting donor experiences. We’ll look at where organisations are losing potential donors; which experience changes have the greatest impact on conversion and revenue; and how expectations around payments, mobile, personalisation, and trust differ across markets.

Together, we will explore:

  • Where donor journeys most commonly break down – and what that costs your organisation
  • What global data tells us about conversion, payment behaviour, and donor expectations
  • Real examples of UX and CX changes that have materially improved fundraising performance
  • Tests your organisation can run across donation flows, payment methods, recurring giving, and mobile
  • How to balance conversion with trust, accessibility, privacy, and donor choice

You’ll leave the session with practical tests you can implement immediately, including identifying the biggest sources of friction in your own digital donor journeys, and a clear set of actions to take back to your team.

Learning outcomes

  • Build a practical testing roadmap for your digital fundraising experience
  • Design simple experiments to improve your conversion, recurring giving, and payment completion
  • Learn which UX and conversion opportunities to prioritise to improve revenue

Presented in partnership with Fundraise Up, this workshop will be held in person and streamed as part of IFC Online.
