About this session

This session will frame the challenge of getting funders to invest in network-based solutions to social change, and offer potential approaches to addressing these:

The Challenge:

Networks are by their nature are very different to programmatic interventions in that network journeys are often non-linear with multiple potential pathways to impact that are not always obvious from the outset. In this context, funders can often shy away from investing in networks as their impact feels too uncertain or undermined.

We will open up the conversation about how we can most effectively communicate the value of investing in networks, asking probing questions around:

How are you currently measuring progress and impact for your network-based intervention?

How are you currently communicating development and impact of your network to key funders and stakeholders?

One Approach:

Gwen Beeman, Analyst at The Small Foundation will then talk us through one emergent approach around tracking network evolution of connection and coordination to support telling the story of your network’s current and potential future long-term impact.
