Planning through uncertainty: Building your strategic framework

Planning through uncertainty: Building your strategic framework

About this session

When you hear the words strategic plan, what comes to mind? Chances are, it sounds like a five-year plan littered with vague objectives but without concrete actions.

Even before the pandemic, nonprofits often struggled with strategic planning. Now, following an extended period of uncertainty, these nebulous “plans” have left many nonprofits rudderless and desperate for funding.

What if, instead of creating a strategic plan, organisations used a strategic framework to lean on? While a plan is typically a list of inflexible steps, a framework adapts to change and functions as a guide. Plans do not account for new priorities or changed directions, whereas frameworks can support you in forging a new path and in adjusting in adversity. Thanks to COVID-19, this kind of agility is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. This session will teach you the basics for getting started with a strategic framework designed to help your organisation operate with increased agility, efficiency, and effectiveness.

This session is CFRE-accredited. Attendance at the session, in conjunction with the speaker Q&A that follows, is worth one point.
