60 minutes to turn good intentions and a landmark climate ruling into action.
In July of last year, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) delivered a landmark advisory opinion on climate change, clarifying states’ legal obligations and spelling out consequences for failure to prevent climate harm.
The advisory opinion was a decisive step towards international accountability that elevates the right to a clean and healthy environment and addresses the role of fossil fuels head-on.
World’s Youth for Climate Justice, the youth-driven coalition behind the ICJ effort that started with just 27 Pacific Island law students, is now pushing for the campaign to go global to capitalise one what the advisory opinion can achieve in the real world. We believe the people in the room at IFC 2026 can be the spark that helps supercharge this initiative. If you want to be part of it, bring your knowledge, experience, and skills, and commit to driving real positive change.
This will be a highly interactive session in which we will work together to explore possibilities for collaboration, joining a global network of individuals ready to rally activists and everyday people behind the campaign.
Big Topics are high-impact, immersive, and solution-focused sessions designed to challenge our assumptions and drive collective action. These facilitated sessions don’t feature panels of experts of lengthy presentations, but are an opportunity to work directly with your sector peers on the global issues that need collective solutions.
