About this session

The International Civil Society Centre, seeks out the latest innovations from the sector and analyses how they can help ICSOs achieve greater impact; while scanning for future developments that could determine civil society’s relevance.

In the context of future developments, the Centre has been hosting the Scanning the Horizonforesight community since 2015, where futurists, strategists, trend analysts and research specialists form a cross-sector community of experts and practitioners and share insights, explore key trends and develop relevant strategies. The platform also enables mutual learning and the continuous pooling of resources.

As of the Centre´s work on innovation, it showcases best practices from the sector on hot topics, directly concerning it, such as confronting populism, inclusive urban working or digital innovation. The Innovation Report 2021 will highlight innovations responding to the transformative potential in our societies triggered by digital technologies, achieving people-centred or nature-positive approaches, aiming at participation, inclusion, sustainability and impact.
