William Kamkwamba is better known as “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind”.
IFC 2019 is very much about the power of one. And few people can be as shining and inspiring an example of that power than our opening keynote speaker, William Kamkwamba. You can read more about William here.
To kick off IFC 2019, William will share his story of overcoming hardships that threatened his education and of going on to not only study on his own but to create pathways to a better life for his family and his entire village in Malawi. At the age of 14.
William will speak to the importance of heeding the call to action when it presents itself. Even at a young age, he knew that one person can create change… real, lasting, positive change… on a personal level, a family level, a community level. And by sharing his story, by inspiring change agents like the 1,000 of you gathered here at IFC 2019, he has expanded his reach to a global level.
